Rail Vision Visits Crich Tram Museum

Rail Vision visited Crich Tram Museum at Matlock, UK in November 2013 for trials and grooved rail testing. The Tram museum is an ideal setting for testing grooved rail profiling technology on a range of profiles, with test areas available with rail and keep having significant wear. During the tests, the iXplore vehicle generated considerable interest from visitors to the museum who were enthusiastic and interested in recent imaging technologies for railroads.

The tram museum is a registered charity and a favourite destination for visitors interested in old and new tramways. The majority of rolling stock comes from past and present tramways in the UK, and the museum has an engineering team to maintain and refurbish rolling stock to operate on the museum tracks. Inspired by the technological developments shown by Rail Vision, the museum has requested for a complete inspection of their track to determine any risks for their trams and visitors.
